Founded in 1886 by William Oesterlein as William Oesterlein & Co. The firm reorganized in 1898 as the Oesterlein Machine Co. In March 1925 Oesterlein Machine Co. bought the inventory, jigs, patterns, drawings, name, and good will of Aurora Tool Works Co., which manufactured drill presses and milling machines.
