Wurr & Lewis was active by 1875. By 1882 it was succeeded by Henry Wurr & Co. Under the Wurr & Lewis name they manufactured portable steam engines, combined circular and band sawing machines, saw benches, moulding machines, and mortising and boring machines. Under the Henry Wurr & Co. name they made a gas engine and the combined mortising and boring machine.

In 1876, Wurr & Lewis was located at 16, Walbrook, London. In 1882, Henry Wurr & Co. was located at 3 Blomfield Street in London.

    Wurr and Lewis, 16 Walbrook, London, exhibited hand-power, circular, and band-sawing machines, and several other hand-sawing, wood-working appliances. On this stand, there were several first-class artists' and workmen's tools.
  • 1882-04-01 The Cabinet Maker and Art Finisher.
    Messrs. Henry Wurr and Co (late Wurr and Lewis), engineers, 3, Blomfield-street, London-wall, E.C., shewed the "Onl" Patent Gas Engine, in various sizes, also a one hand-power morticing and boring machine. The machines will be found useful for moderate requirements.
