Beginning in about 1938 and continuing for only a couple of years, the Marlew Mill & Shaper Co. of Vernon, Los Angeles, manufactured metal shapers plus horizontal and vertical milling machines. These machines were subsequently manufactured (as their "Vernon" line) by the Machinery Manufacturing Co. of Los Angeles, and then in 1944 their Vernon line of machinery was sold to Sheldon Machine Co. of Chicago.
