Electric Machine Corp., also known as Elmco, concentrated on the automotive service market. They manufactured two bench lathes, the conventional model 24A, and the 34A which sold with the firm's Universal Electrical Test Stand. The 34A did triple duty as an electrical tester, running-test stand, and a simple commutator lathe. A 1925 announcement touted The Elmco Century Universal Test Stand with Lathe and Ignition Tester – A complete automotive electrical repair shop combined in one unit. Elmco equipment is endorsed and approved by the United Motors Service, Inc.
