In 1859 or early 1860 Campbell, Whittier & Co., of Roxbury, Mass., succeeded Chubbuck & Campbell. We see the Campbell Whittier name until at least 1868. By 1884 Whittier Machine Co., with Charles Whittier as president, was manufacturing steam engines from the same location at 1176 Tremont Street in Boston.
