For those that have been around here for a while, you will remember that back before the big site rebuild (I think it was in 2008), we had a classified ads section on the old site. This was a very popular feature on the site but one that we were forced to disabled when we rebuilt the site due to some technical issues.

My plans was to find some commercial software and get the Classifieds going again. However, I was never able to find anything off the shelf that would do what I wanted. So, I instead just wrote the code to integrate the new classified ads right into the main VintageMachinery.org application. I have spent most of my spare time working on this project over the past month and as of today, we are re-launching the new and improved VintageMachinery.org Classified Ads!

You can now access the NEW Classified Ads at www.vintagemachinery.org/classifieds/

Additionally, I added a new tab to the MfgIndex page for the Classified Ads – if there are any classifieds listed for a particular manufacturer, just those ads will be listed on that page.

The Classified Ads are FREE to post your vintage machinery on to sell. While we do not charge for the service, as always, if you find the feature useful, please consider making a donation to help keep the site running.

Site Update - New Features

Article: Two new features have been added to the VintageMachinery.org web site in a recent build:

1 - Keep Me Logged In: On the site log in box, there is now a check box that will allow users to store a cookie in their web browser that will keep them logged into the VintageMachinery.org web site. This new feature will keep regular visitors logged in each time they visit without without having to type in their user id and password. Please be sure not to use this on public computers.

2 - PDF Downloads on Mobile Devices: More and more users are taking advantage of mobile devices to access the VinteageMachinery.org site on cell pones and tablets. We recently discovered that some devices were not allowing site visitors to download PDF files of publication reprints. With this new site build, these problems have hopefully been resolved.
