Craftsman badged slow speed vertical wet wheel grinder, built by Double A Products.Natural Ohio stone wheel, 10" x 1½" with a crack in half of it (see photos). Cast Iron body and tool rest.Geared speed reduction from the 4½" machine pulley.Raised cast numbers and letters, in the body, are below the tool rest: E-1401 109.1. The drain pipe plug on this machine is ¼". It will need a plywood mounting platform, motor (E.g. 1/4hp 1750), 1-1/2” pulley for the motor and a belt. I have another similar wet wheel that I use for an ax, hatchets, and froe. The issues I can see: 1) the wheel crack I mentioned will likely not affect sharpening provided the crack doesn’t move to the other side, 2) it needs a snap ring on the 1/2” shaft, 3) the pulley is bent slightly but may be fine, 4) the gears aren’t dry but could use some grease, 5) it could use paint.
Free and recipient pays shipping, but local pickup is preferred. It weighs almost 29# out of a box.
