This was a restoration project that I unfortunately ran out of time with.
Here's a pretty uncommon band saw - A Bett-Marr 14" . It's complete, unbroken, and original, AFAIK - Cast iron frame and wheels, with interesting heavy cast aluminum doors. It's a sleeve bearing machine , and those will probably need replacing, but not a big or expensive job . It will need tires , as there are none on it now . I was told that the original color of these was a very dark blue . I have derusted, stripped, and finished the entire frame and their components. I haven't seen many, if at all, of these on the market and only a couple on VintageMachinery. It is to be noted that this still needs work done to it. The original motor needs a power cord, the wheels need tires and it needs a new blade. It will come with a rusty one which seems to still have much life in it just needs to be derusted. Please let me now if you have any questions, I would love to see this be finished and go to a good home! The band saw is located in the PNW: Mountlake Terrace, WA. 20 minutes north of Seattle. |
