This is an Antique Hill, Clark & Co Camel Back Drill Press. Originally belt driven, possibly from a ceiling drive system in a water powered factory. Along they way someone has welded on an electric motor plate. No motor included. As is for a collector or restorer. I don't have any parts not pictured on the unit. We purchased this for but nobody here was motivated to restore the until and we need to recapture some storage space.
Cash or credit card and by appointment only. Located at Tinkersmiths Makerspace at the IX Art Park in Charlottesville. We can lift into a truck or trailer but will not ship item.
"The firm of Horace, McMurtrie & Co. was established in 1865. In 1872 the business changed its name to Hill, Clarke & Co. Sometime between about 1930 and 1936 the name changed to Hill-Clarke Machinery Co. They survived into the 1940's. This firm was a maker and seller of "steam engines, pumps and boilers, iron and wood working machinery, shafting, belting supplies".
