This is a fully restored 1972 Rockwell ram-style drill press with jack shaft assembly and cast-iron base. Sand blasted and powder coated with new bearings throughout. This one has the 6 in. quill stroke (most are 4 in.) and the extra-long 42 in. column. Includes the optional jack shaft assembly giving 16 speeds between 175 and 8200 rpm. TEFC motor is mounted on a cam acting, hinged mount from some other drill press I had, but the original motor mount and belt guard are included. Both sets of pulleys hinge for easy belt changes. No plate on the TEFC motor but I'm pretty sure it's 3/4 hp. I measure a mere +/- 0.001 in. runout on a mounted bit - exceptional for a drill press. The original slotted cast iron tabletop is perfectly functional but has a few errant holes. Shown in the pics is the 42 x 27 in., 1/2 in. thick aluminum plate top that I mounted for wood working. Includes 3 vise-grip style hold-downs and a fence with a couple of stops. The cabinet that it's mounted on in the pics is NOT included. |
